Trials Complete on New Device Which Will Revolutionize Security and Visibility in Supply Chain Management

Houston, TX – Bloodhound Tracking Device, Inc. (BTD) has successfully field-tested its revolutionary security and visibility device for supply chain management. Recent on-ship trials covering over 40,000 nautical miles across three countries and the Pacific Ocean have solidified the transformative potential of BTD’s technology. The BTD testing on ocean containers and trailers, utilizing multiple routes throughout the US and between the US and Mexico, has proved the durability and reliability of the fully integrated communication device. BTD’s “Visibility as a Service” (VaaS) platform transforms supply chains into interactive ecosystems, enabling businesses to track, trace, and secure against risks, respond swiftly to threats, and optimize operations with real-time intelligence.

For years, the transportation industry has searched for a solution or tool that can provide true visibility into their supply chains to protect goods, eliminate theft, and identify issues while in transit. Damian Gunjak, Owner and President of Just-In-Time Solutions, a transportation company based in Mechanicsburg, PA, noted that “We’ve had various GPS units on our trailers tied into our contract transportation management system (TMS) provider without much success. When we tried the BTD system, both our Security Director and our TMS provider said the BTD units are head and shoulders better, more reliable and easier to use than anything else on the market! We’re sold”

According to the FBI, cargo theft costs trucking companies and retailers over $30 billion a year in the United States. The impact on businesses and consumers increases exponentially as cargo theft continues to escalate. In the first half of 2024, 787 cargo thefts in the United States were recorded which marked a 49% increase compared to the first half of 2023, according to Overhaul’s USCAN H1-2024 Cargo Theft Report. It was also noted by Overhaul, that the average loss per incident was $115,230, which is 83% higher than the average loss recorded in H1-2023. These thefts result in higher rates across the board and a higher cost of goods for the company and consumer at the end of the supply chains. BTD provides Security + Geolocation to give logistics professionals the best of all solutions.
